2018 SsangYong XLV review

2018 SsangYong XLV review

Practical SsangYong XLV small crossover is not polished as its new Rexton stable meter, but a perforated diesel dryer and hopefully the fastest price will be considered positive when it comes in November.

ADVANTAGES-

Professionals
Diesel diesel option
Large, practical boot
Should be well valued
Long warranty promise

DISADVANTAGES-

No gasoline option on launch
Dated internal layouts, trims
Unknown resale value
Four star ncp score

Asangong, Korea's lesser known brand of the shadow of Hyundai and Kia, is re-launching as a fully factory backed back distributor in Australia at the end of this year.

While its focus will be on win over the existing owners and pushing the Rexton big SUVs and the Masu Dual-Cab ute, it is ready to grow in the fast growing smaller SUV market too.

There will be two options: Mazda CX-3-Rival Tivoli, as well as an extended derivative called XLV - small for 'Exciting Lifestyle Vehicle'. Hmm

4440mm long and 1605mm long, the latter is about the same size as Nissan Qasquai. Other rivals will include the large-scale market Mitsubishi ASX, Suzuki Vitara, Honda HR-V, Hyundai Kona and Subaru XVi (similar names, but a separate package) - for the name but some small.

China is equally unknown MG Zs, which is finding some success due to pricing and good design. It should motivate Sasangang.

then what is it? XLV is actually kicking around from 2015, so it will reach well in its life cycle in Australia. There is an incentive for the brand to ensure that it accelerates pricing accordingly.

The breakthrough in the radical Australian market is incredibly difficult, SSANG has the advantage of competing in Britain already, where it is slowly making a place in the form of a price-pack option.

Not as a lovely or beloved form in the form of mini-esque Tivoli, there is some appeal in its sharp design language, alternative optional roof paint has been enhanced by the paint. The extra length on Tivoli is behind the big C-pillar, which adjusts the spread of the spreading boot and back seat area.

With Honda HR-V, XLV is focused on first practicality. 720 L is claimed on the boot roof (room for four suitcases), which is high for class, and comes with a hidden box under bag hook, 220V inverter / power point, luggage net and cargo floor.

Despite the remarkable efficiency of Honda's 'Magic seats', the rear seats turn flat 40:40 to convert XLV into a little carpet-line van. They also underline 32.5 degrees to accommodate snooze.

The second line has an adequate head room for two adults and a pretty decent foot room, though the tall people will feed their knees on the hard-to-clean hard-plastic front seat back.

Cabin storage options are many times in multiples, including bottle holders, a center console that fits an iPad, an open area running over the big gloves and front-facing knees.

While the interior design of Brand-New Rexton is positively upmarket, the XLV feels a half step behind the class leaders. The quality of the plastic used on the transmission tunnel and the fascia is a bit 'cheap' for one.

Upwards, various color schemes are available, in which leary red leather seats are an option, as well as various opposite door cards and backlight colors available on the Suzuki-style analog device cluster.

We should keep in mind that within a year of XLV coming in Australia, there will be a mid-cycle update, in which Asangong says it will be a more upscale interior layout. With the products, there are challenges to launch the brand well in their life cycle ...
